Dogs Trust have shared festive pictures of animals patiently waiting to be picked this autumn.

Border Collie mix Layla is also hoping for a home, with volunteers describing her ideal day being “filled with bacon and listening to Beyoncé”.

She is happy to be left alone for a few hours a day and could live with older children.

This beautiful girl would be best suited to a family who have had dogs before and have direct access to a secure garden.

Beagle mix Milo also hopes to find a very active family who love hiking and long walks.

Meanwhile Jupiter, a five-year-old Dobermann cross, is searching for his best friend who he can play games with.

He loves to “snuggle up on the couch” and play with people he knows well.

Staff said “cuddles and tennis balls are his favourite things in the world”.

Sandra Downie Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow said: “We would encourage anyone considering welcoming a dog into their family to consider adopting a rescue dog.

"Dogs come into our care for various reasons, and all are waiting on their special someone to offer them a forever home.

"Rocky, Layla, Alfie, Milo and Jupiter are just some of our current residents who are waiting their second chance in life.

"They differ in looks, size and personality but all are loving and loyal and are ready to become part of their forever family.”
