A city centre site is up for sale with consent for a huge new hotel.
The properties on Dixon Street, between St Enoch Square and the River Clyde have permission to be demolished and sit yards from an existing new hotel that has lain empty for a year.
JLL is marketing the corner site at 4-8 Dixon Street, fronting on to the River Clyde.

The firm states the site has consent for a 22 storey 204-bed hotel, however it could end up as another student flat development.
The firm said the site is also suitable for “alternative uses” and “could be redesigned to suit proposals for PBSA, Co-Living or residential use”.
Makela Milne, residential and development land director at JLL, said: “Glasgow’s residential market has performed strongly over the last 24 months and we expect this to continue.
“The site has an attractive outlook over the River Clyde and benefits from quick access to all of Glasgow’s city centre and West End amenity, making it an attractive proposition for developers and investors.
“With a variety of potential uses, Dixon Street continues the trend of quality sites coming to market at Broomielaw and the city centre delivering new high-quality accommodation in central Glasgow. “
The current buildings on the site would need to be demolished to make way for the new development.
It could add to the city centre's growing number of large-scale purpose build student accommodation developments or it could be another hotel adding to the number already in the area or under construction.
There have been other developments in the St Enoch area and plans exist for more in the surrounding streets.

JLL said the Dixon Street site is “A two-minute walk away from Buchanan Street billed “the premier retail and leisure destination in the city – and boasts views over the river.
“The St Enoch Subway Station and Glasgow Central train station are also nearby, providing easy access to transport links within the city and across Scotland.”
The development, if it goes ahead is not the only hotel development in the area.
Just a short walk along Broomielaw sits the Virgin Hotel building empty since the company went into administration.
The 17 storey, 200 plus bedroom hotel opened in August last year and shut suddenly in December with 150 staff made redundant.
In March the Glasgow Times reported Savils was bringing the former Virgin Hotels property to the market but so far it has not been sold.
