A bar, restaurant and function room owned by a city theatre has been put on the market.

The property is in a prime location on "one of the world’s coolest streets", the agent said.

CDLH has been instructed by the charitable organisation which owns Webster’s Theatre in Glasgow, to place the Secession Bar/Restaurant/Function Room, adjacent to the main Webster’s Theatre on the open market.

Interior and exteriorInterior and exterior (Image: CDLH) Alan Creevy, director of CDLH, said: "The property is in a prime West End location, virtually opposite Kelvinbridge Underground Station and the busy Great Western Road, in the heart of the Glasgow University Campus area.  This is a vibrant West End location, with many complimentary bars and restaurants. This area of Great Western Road was one of the world’s 'coolest streets' coming third behind streets in Montreal and Melbourne."

He also said: "Part of the original church building houses Secession Bar/Restaurant, with an upper floor function area, with its own services.

"The property is being offered to the market at offers over £425,000, although the owners may also consider leasing the property."

Secession has an external beer garden to the front and the selling agents anticipate a "very high level of interest given the prime location with a variety of potential operators, including mainstream operators and restaurateurs with the availability of a high-spending customer base".

The street was hailed in Time Out. Webster’s Theatre is unaffected and will continue to operate as normal.
