Wreaths will be laid at war memorials in towns and villages across Lanarkshire over the Remembrance weekend.
This is part of an initiative by the Lanarkshire Lieutenancy who will lay the wreaths at 68 war memorials in the county.
These range from smaller village monuments to large memorials in the main towns.
This follows extensive research that uncovered more than 60 memorials, from smaller village monuments to large memorials.
Lady Susan Haughey CBE said: "This significant undertaking reflects the determination of the Lieutenancy to mark the ultimate sacrifice made by those who fell protecting our freedom.
"It is our honour to remember them with this act of respect at memorials stretching from Leadhills in the south to Stepps in North Lanarkshire."
The Lieutenancy’s efforts symbolises a countywide commitment to preserving the legacy of those who served, ensuring each memorial receives recognition and remembrance in honour of their ultimate sacrifice.
