A new steelworks-themed play area has opened in Motherwell.
The park on Roman Road was officially opened on October 24 by Cathedral Primary School pupil, Cerys Lambert, who was the winner of the Design-a-Sign competition.
Her sign is now displayed at the entrance to the park.
The project was developed by North Lanarkshire Council's community partnership team, in collaboration with local resident Joe Wemyss, Cathedral Primary, Muir Street Primary, and the Lanarkshire Deaf Club.
The 'unique design', which features steel industry imagery on the equipment and ground surfaces, was created to pay tribute to the area's steelworks history.
Councillor Geraldine Woods, convener of communities, said: "This fantastic new facility not only provides a safe, fun environment for our young people but also celebrates Motherwell’s proud industrial heritage.
"Seeing the creativity and involvement from our local schools and community groups shows the strength of our community spirit."
The playground includes a steelworks multi-play unit, an accessible roundabout and trampoline, sign language boards, swings, and a seating area.
The project was funded by £140,000 from the Local Development Programme and the Scottish Government, and was managed by the council's community partnership team.
