A campaign encouraging the use of public transport has been launched as businesses prepare for a busy winter season in Glasgow.

The Choose Public Transport campaign aims to make people aware of the travel options accessible throughout the city.

This initiative is a joint effort by Glasgow City Council, the Night-time Economy team, and the city's public transport operators.

This is in addition to cycling and walking, all of which help people enjoy attractions and social activities without the hassle of using a car or navigating traffic and car parks.

Councillor Angus Millar, convener for transport, climate, and city centre recovery at Glasgow City Council, said: "Glasgow City centre has so much to offer at Christmas time and public transport is a great way to access its many fantastic attractions, from shops and hospitality venues to our festive events.

Glasgow has a wide range of public transport available, all of which run almost 24 hours a day, with easy-to-access ticketing options.

The city centre is recognised as a UNESCO City of Music, named the UK's top cultural and creative city, and has an international reputation for a night out.

All of these factors contribute to a bustling city centre, especially during the winter season.

A variety of easy-to-access ticketing options are available, including free travel passes for under 22s and over 60s, the Glasgow Tripper ticket, and various travel card discounts for rail travellers.
