A 125-year-old church in Hamilton has been transformed into a set of 'luxury' flats.

St Andrew’s Church, on the corner of Avon Street and Haddow Street, has been redeveloped by the Apsis Group into six 'luxury' apartments for rent.

The church, which is more than 125 years old, has retained period features such as cornicing, archways, stained glass, and architraves.

Despite the age of the original building, the apartments are energy efficient and have a ‘B’ EPC energy rating.

Flat four features an open-plan kitchen, lounge, and dining room with large feature arch windows and a mezzanine level.

The master bedroom also benefits from an ensuite shower room.

Flat one boasts its own main door entrance and unique architectural features including columns, archways, feature beams and striking windows.

"From its striking façade, with its unique windows to the interior specification, each detail had to be carefully considered to not only be aesthetically pleasing but also meet the very strict building regulations and requirements.

“The results, however, have been exceptional ensuring that residents enjoy a truly unique experience combining the old with the new to offer contemporary, energy efficient homes."
