A SECOND man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a woman in Glasgow.

James Paita made no plea when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.

He is accused of assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.

The 40-year-old, from the city, was remanded in custody and will appear again in the dock within the next week.

It comes after Sandie Butler, 40, was found seriously injured on St Mungo Avenue in Townhead shortly before 1pm on October 29. She died a short time later.
