SHOPPERS in Glasgow got a festive eyeful today (November 12) as the cast of the Pavilion panto hit the streets.
Stars of the theatre’s Christmas show, Beauty and the Beastie, descended upon Aulds bakery in the St Enoch Centre to help spread some yuletide cheer (and eat some cake).
Liam Dolan, Scott Fletcher, Valissa Scott, Jack Jester, Craig Glover, Jennifer Neil and Nikki Auld delighted passers-by at the official photocall for the show, which kicks off on November 28.
And panto favourites Grado, best known for Scot Squad and Two Doors Down, and River City’s Shellsuit Bob Stephen Purdon were also on top form.
The daring duo, who have now done eight Pavilion pantos together, revealed the secret to being the perfect comedy partnership on stage.
“Liking each other off stage helps,” said Grado.
Stephen added: “The chemistry we’ve got off stage transfers on to the stage because we are so close. We could finish each other’s sentences.”
Beauty and the Beastie follows beautiful Belle as she helps her mother, Professor Porridge and their neighbours Dame Dolly Drumchapel and her son, Hector.
Meanwhile, the arrogant Prince Lorenzo battles to find true love before the final petal falls from a magic rose - can Belle save the day?
Nikki Auld, who plays Professor Porridge, was especially excited about kicking off rehearsals this week.
“I can’t wait to be back at the Pavilion,” she said. “Best audiences in Glasgow.”
Tickets for Beauty and the Beastie, which runs until January 12, are on sale now.
