Paisley Town Hall has marked the first anniversary of its £22 million transformation.

The historic venue, now a professional performance space, has been a significant attraction for the past year.

It has hosted numerous performances, festivals, and events, drawing in tens of thousands of visitors.

Since its reopening, the town hall has welcomed over 44,000 visitors, who have attended a variety of performances.

In one year, the venue has seen over 44k visitors (Image: Chris Humphreys Photography Ltd) These include concerts by internationally renowned performers such as Paolo Nutini, club night Bicep supported by Optimo, and comedians Frankie Boyle and John Bishop.

The venue has also hosted classical and cultural performances by Scottish Opera and the esteemed Royal National Mod.

Paisley Town Hall's 'historic charm' has been enhanced with state-of-the-art technology, including a digital suite and dance studio.

The venue has hosted more than 230 industry conferences and meetings, 167 shows, and bespoke weddings in the past year.

Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, Renfrewshire Council’s culture spokesperson and chair of OneRen, said: "It’s wonderful to mark this first anniversary of the transformed Town Hall, and to highlight all the incredible events that have taken place in this stunning venue.

"Paisley Town Hall has truly become a cultural landmark, attracting talent and audiences alike to experience the best of what our town has to offer."

The council's investment in Paisley's cultural venues extends beyond the town hall.

Other investments have been made into Paisley's cultural buildings (Image: Chris Humphreys Photography Ltd) It includes the transformation of Paisley Museum into a 'world-class' visitor destination, the development of Paisley Arts Centre, the creation of the award-winning Paisley Learning and Cultural Hub, and the restoration of other heritage buildings across the town centre.

There is also ongoing capital investment in the school learning estate, focused regeneration across eight housing areas, and targeted investment in outdoor sports.

This includes a new running track and hockey pitch at On-X Linwood, brand-new tennis courts in three Renfrewshire parks, upgrades to Ferguslie Sports Centre, and a new pavilion and football pitches at St James Playing Fields.
