GLASGOW is getting its Christmas sparkle on, as preparations for the festive season move up a gear.
As she placed the last bauble on the George Square Christmas tree, Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren said: “It’s always fun to hang the final bauble on the tree as part of the city’s countdown to Christmas.
“I’m also looking forward to the light switch-on this Sunday.
“Walking among the Christmas lights is always guaranteed to lift the spirits and put families in a festive mood.”
She added: “Our Glasgow Loves Christmas programme promises a host of magical events and exceptional shopping experiences.”
Around 10,000 ticket-holders will be treated to a packed programme of entertainment at the lights switch-on this Sunday (November 17).
