For the second year in a row, Allied Vehicles, the UK's leading supplier of adapted and special purpose vehicles, is delighted to support the Glasgow Times Bank on Us Appeal.
Through the company’s charitable arm, the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust, Allied sees first-hand the extent to which food poverty is continuing to affect the people of Glasgow.
David Facenna, Corporate Culture Director at Allied Vehicles said, “We are glad to once again be able to support the Bank on Us appeal with the Glasgow Times. Food banks are continuing to be a lifeline for so many, and even more so in the winter months and at Christmas time. Even if the campaign can lift a small amount of pressure to families this Christmas it will be thoroughly worthwhile.”
Since its inception in 2022, the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust has donated over £500,000 to charities and community groups. The majority of the donations stay in Glasgow as the company supports organisations close to its manufacturing site in north Glasgow.
The Bank on Us Appeal encourages readers of the Glasgow Times to donate as part of a food drive and toy appeal. A bag will be given away in this Friday's paper as the campaign launches.
David continues, “Over the years we have loved supporting so many charities at Christmas time to ensure no child wakes on Christmas morning without a gift.
Together the amazing people of Glasgow can do our bit to help struggling families.”
