A guest at a Glasgow holiday flat brought back a Waitrose supermarket shopping trolley to the property, according to complaints from angry neighbours.

The operators of the Devonshire Terrace holiday home were granted a short-term let licence at Glasgow’ licensing and regulatory committee despite  a number of objections from residents and Dowanhill, Hyndland and Kelvinside Community Council.

Other complaints about the short term let in the Hyndland area highlighted litter and claimed there was noise after a couple argued.

Speaking at the committee Councillor Jill Pidgeon said concerns were voiced in the objections about a person bringing a Waitrose shopping trolley to the property.

A representative of the applicant Sheraz Ramzan said there was a woman attending a cycling championships in the city staying at the apartment during the time the trolley was spotted, and said the incident was dealt with.

Responding to comments about noise coming from the property the representative said a man had argued with his partner.

Explaining he was told he couldn’t stay again, she said: “He got into an argument with his partner. There was noise. I addressed the issue with the gentleman. He said he had an issue with his partner.”

There were also concerns about cigarette butts but the representative said they could have been left by passers by.

Responding to the suggestions of stag parties staying, she confirmed she wasn’t aware of any and there is a maximum of three guests allowed.

The committee granted Sheraz Ramzan the short term let licence for 2/2, 1 Devonshire Terrace.
