Police are warning the public to be vigilant amid 'suspicious' activity in Newton Mearns.
The force says it received a report of men behaving 'in a suspicious manner' in the Maidenhall Grove area on Sunday, November 24.
Officers attended the scene and arrested and charged two men, aged 19 and 43, in connection with alleged road traffic offences and attempted theft.
Following this, Inspector Brian Eaglesham has urged members of the public to stay alert and report anything of concern in their community to police on 101.
Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland East Renfrewshire said: "Around 10.10pm on Sunday, November 24, officers received a report of men behaving in a suspicious manner in Maidenhall Grove, Newton Mearns.
"Officers attended and two men (19 and 43) were arrested and charged in connection with attempted theft and road traffic offences."
Inspector Brian Eaglesham said: “We would like to thank the public for their support and urge them to remain vigilant.
"Anyone with any concerns or information is urged to contact Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
