A man toasted to his dad with a can of Tennent’s Lager at the top of the highest mountain in Africa.
John Kilcullen hiked up Mount Kilimanjaro with the iconic yellow tin to pay tribute to his father John Kilcullen Snr.
The 44-year-old, from Cardonald, lost his 60-year-old dad to a heart attack in 2018.
His dad had been terminally ill at the time after battling prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
Now John has remembered and celebrated his life by cracking open a cold one at the top, like they used to do while watching football together.
The trip took him six days in total as the dormant volcano is the highest free-standing mountain above sea level in the world.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times John said: “I took the can just to toast my dad, it was either that or a bottle of sherry.
“We would sometimes drink together while watching football.
“Kilimanjaro was on the bucket list for a long time so it felt good to get it ticked off.
“At the top, I had a sip of Tennent's to remember my dad and also had a sip of Buckfast to remember a friend who passed away in early August.”
Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, East Africa, with a huge elevation of 19,341 feet.
John took on the hike earlier this month to raise money for the John O’Byrne Foundation which aims to support Scotland’s sickest kids.
He has so far raised almost £1,500 for the charity to help them provide unforgettable experiences and memories for the children and their families.
This includes giving them access to holiday cabins, attending concerts, days out and also thoughtful sentimental gifts.
John said: “It's the fourth time I've raised money for John's foundation.
“I knew him growing up and the foundation does such good work, it's as good a cause as any.
“I wanted to take on Mount Kilimanjaro anyway so if I can raise some money at the same time it's all a bonus.
“The hardest part was hiking at 2am, the temperatures were about minus nine degrees.”
The John O’Byrne Foundation said: “We have had loads of amazing people over the years do different things to raise money for us but what John has done takes it to a whole new level.
“Climbing Kilimanjaro is an amazing personal achievement but to raise money for us to keep kids smiling is just class.
“John’s been a friend of mine for years and has raised money for us before but nothing on this scale.
“We can't thank him enough and will be sure to spend the cash on something amazing over the festive period, which we will keep him up to date with.”
