A popular fried chicken chain has announced its opening date at Braehead shopping centre.
Popeyes will welcome its first customers to its new restaurant at the retail hub on Friday, December 6 at 11am.
Located in the centre’s food mall, it will be the fourth restaurant in Scotland for the brand, which is famous for its Louisiana-style chicken.
It will bring more than 100 new jobs to the local area.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK chief executive officer, said: “We can’t wait to give even more people across Glasgow the chance to enjoy our famous Louisiana chicken with the opening of our new location at Braehead Shopping Centre.
“After the success of our Glasgow City Centre and Barrhead openings, where we saw customers queuing for over 18 hours, we’re sure our Braehead location will be equally as popular and look forward to welcoming customers very soon.”
To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers will receive a free Chicken Sandwich, plus exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise.
The first three people queuing will win the prize of free chicken sandwiches for an entire year.
Chicken fans queued for 18 hours ahead of the Sauchiehall Street opening, arriving from as early as 10pm the night before.
The new restaurant's menu will fan favourites like the iconic Popeyes chicken sandwich, wings, tenders and signature chicken wraps.
Popeyes will also be serving up its festive menu featuring The Festive Superstack Sandwich, sage and onion hash browns and the frostin’ mint shake made with oreo until January 6.
Ashley Bisland, centre director at Braehead, added: "We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Popeyes to Braehead, and we couldn’t think of a better time to open as we approach the festive period.
"Our customers will love the unique dining experience Popeyes offers, and we’re proud to be the first Scottish shopping centre to house this iconic brand.”
