A PERVERT claimed he would sexually abuse a young schoolgirl to who he believed was her dad.

Martin Marshall, 49, was instead talking online to an undercover police officer posing as a 'decoy' between March and May 2023.

Marshall made further sick comments to the officer which included raping a girl.

In reference to the officer's 'daughter', he told him: "I bet she looks so hot in her school uniform."

He also stated that he "liked" children between the ages of five and 15 years old.

The crime took place 29 years after Marshall was convicted at the High Court for an assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of life with a firearms offence.

Marshall pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to sending messages that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing in character.

The court heard Marshall, of the city's Possilpark, started talking to the officer named 'Andrew' in March 2023.

Prosecutor Redmond Harris said: "Marshall believed that the man had a six-year-old daughter.

"Marshall stated that he would like to abuse the child and that he was attracted to children aged between five and 15 years old.

"He stated that he enjoyed seeing them crying while being abused but that he hadn't engaged in contact offending before but would like to."

Marshall also expressed an interest in "shemales" during their conversations.

Mr Harris went on to read out 58 lines of chat between the pair.

The officer asked Marshall: "What ages do you like?"

Marshall replied: "Five to 15, you?"

Marshall also spoke about "pinning her down and rape" in reference to a young girl.

The pair later discussed the 'daughter' in which Marshall claimed he wished the officer would "join in" with them.

The officer asked: "Is six not too old for you?"

Marshall replied: "No, not at all."

He went on to make the comment about the 'daughter' in her school uniform.

The matter was reported to the police and officers executed a search warrant on the property where they seized Marshall's phone.

He was arrested and told officers that he "did not remember" the conversations.

In reply to caution and charge, Marshall said: "I don't know what to say."

Sentence was deferred pending background reports by Sheriff Mark Maguire who granted Marshall bail and put him on the sex offenders register meantime.

The sheriff said: "You received two years probation for your High Court matter which was your sole previous conviction.

"I find that this offence is undoubtedly serious with an undoubtedly sexual element.

"You will understand that custody is at the forefront of the court's mind."
