A six-figure sum of 'drugs' has been found in a Citroen on the M74 motorway.

At around 11.35pm on Monday, December 2, cops stopped a Citroen Berlingo van on the road's northbound carriageway near Larkhall.

Following a search of the motor, cops allegedly discovered five kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of around £200,000.

After the haul was recovered, officers say a 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged drugs offences.

The man is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday, December 4.
