A CANNABIS farmer has pleaded guilty to having thousands of pounds worth of potential drugs.
Derek Brooks admitted to producing cannabis at a property in North Street, Alexandria, and to tampering with the electricity meter.
The Crown accepted he was not guilty of being concerned in the supply of the drug.
The 48-year-old, of the town's Dillichip Terrace, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on November 26 to confirm the pleas.
Police attended the property around 7pm on June 15, 2022, and detected a strong smell of cannabis. Officers could hear a loud humming noise from fans.
They found 40 cannabis plants, 10 of them established. They also discovered lamps, extractor fans and other equipment.
Analysis determined the plants could yield between £7,400 and £9,500.
Sheriff Frances McCartney deferred sentence until December 17 for reports.
