A road in Glasgow has been closed after a man took unwell.

Police and paramedics raced to Petershill Road in the city's Springburn on Tuesday at around 11am where they found the man.

He has been rushed to hospital and emergency services have since closed the road between Edgefauld Road and Hobden Street.

His current condition is unknown. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11 am on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, police attended to assist with road closures following a call from Scottish Ambulance Service colleagues who were dealing with a man who had taken unwell on Petershill Road, Springburn, Glasgow.

"He has been taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

"Petershill Road is closed between Edgefauld Road and Hobden Street, Springburn, Glasgow."

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted. 

Bus services in the city have also been affected, with First diverting its 57 and 57A services.

The service is currently diverted to Balornock from Petershill, left at Edgefauld Road, right at Broomknowes Road.

To the city the service is diverted from Broomsfield Road, left at Broomknowes Road, left at Edgefauld Road, and right at Petershill Road.
