Fans of the popular ITV dating show Love Island were left shocked when a new bombshell made a dance-off entrance to the villa.

This came as the Love Island contestants received a surprise text inviting them to get dressed up and show off their 'sexiest' dance moves amid the return of the heart-rate challenge.

The text read: "Islanders, Tonight you will get each others pulses racing in a boys vs girls challenge #GyRateThat #GetDownAndDirrrty."

The boys were the first to perform their routines for the girls who sported heart-rate monitors.

Shaq was the first boy to show off his moves when he came out dressed as an airport security officer saying: “Which one of you girls needs a pat down?”

Casey wore a cheeky lumberjack outfit while Kai showed off his moves as a soldier.

For the girls, Lana popped out as a giant present complete with a red bow while Samie donned a devil outfit.

While all seemed well on the South African villa after the heart-rate challenge was over, things were only getting started.

Stunning the villa with a sultry red angel outfit, new arrival Claudia Fogarty said: “Let’s really get them hearts racing…” before the show ended on a cliffhanger.

Previously, Claudia's arrival was only rumoured by a programme insider, who said: “Claudia is ready to strut into the villa imminently.

“She’s classy, beautiful and well-educated and is set to have all the boys fighting over her.

“Her life might be glamorous but family means everything to her and she’d love to meet the man of her dreams and settle down. But she’s promised not to be too raunchy, to save Dad’s blushes."

Love Island fans react to bombshell's dance off arrival to the ITV show

Fans of the show took to Twitter to express their shock at the surprise bombshell entrance with one user saying: "NO I SISNT WANT A CLIFFHANGER" while another said: "Love Island WHY!!!!! You can't just stop there I'm on the edge of my seat!!!"

However, others were intrigued by Tom's reaction to the bombshell as he appeared to recognise her.

One user said: "Ooh does Tom know the newbie??" with another chiming in with: "Oh does Tom know the new girl?"

Another added to the situation: "So Tom is gone again".

Love Island airs each night from 9 pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
