BeReal has announced it will be trialling its new 'RealPeople' timeline feature in the UK.
The 'anti-Instagram' app has said that its UK users will be first to try out a 'curated timeline of the world's most interesting people'.
Athletes, artists, activists and everything in between will be included in an 'ever-changing collection of who is inspiring and intriguring' BeReal from all over the world.
The social media platform - which champions authenticity - also teased that the new feature is part of a 'busy summer' for the app which suggests users can expect more updates in the coming months.
BeReal teases 'busy summer' ahead as app launches new feature to UK users
"RealPeople is our next step in trying to help bring out all the things we enjoy about a connected human experience," a BeReal spokesperson has said.
Explaining how they chose the new feature's name, they added: "We believe we're all just people. We're all equal - all equally interesting and equally boring!
"RealPeople will showcase the here and now no matter who you are.
"That means we expect - and want - it to have people you know and don't.
"We hope it will show that it's okay to BeReal no matter who you are - in fact we think it's who we are that makes us real people."
BeReal also explained that the app is not about promoting brands, getting likes and comments or contributing to influencer culture.
It added: "You won't see perfect photoshopped pictures, product recommendations or ads disguised as posts."
How does the BeReal 'Real People' feature work?
To access RealPeople, simply go to the Discovery tab and then select RealPeople:
- React to a post: You can only react with a RealMoji. At launch, you’ll only see the RealMoji you post on a RealPeople BeReal. This isn’t about amassing huge numbers of RealMojis.
- Hide a post: To keep RealPeople catered to users’ interests, you’ll be able to hide accounts from your RealPeople timeline. There’ll be an ‘X’ next to the settings button above the post, which hides the post.
- Report a post: You can report a BeReal shared on the RealPeople timeline by clicking ‘Report this BeReal.’
The news follows another recent announcement from BeReal that users in the UK will now be able to post three times a day with its new BonusBeal tool.
The update means that users can post two additional photos on the same day whenever they want to - if they post the first within the two-minute window.
Other social media platforms have also been making major changes to their platforms in recent days.
Snapchat has launched an 'experimental, friendly, chatbot' for its more than 750 million users.
Snapchat My AI can do things like answer trivia questions, offer advice, help plan trips or suggest places or meals to eat.
You can give My AI a nickname, tell it your likes, dislikes and the more you interact with it the better it gets to know you and the more relevant the responses will be.
