Music streaming giant Spotify has launched a new AI feature for app users after teasing its release all the way back in March.
Speaking of the new AI-powered DJ on the app, Spotify told listeners "Personalization is at the heart of what we do", adding: "Ready for a brand-new way to listen on Spotify and connect even more deeply with the artists you love?"
"The DJ is a personalized AI guide that knows you and your music taste so well that it can choose what to play for you."
The feature is supposed to know your music taste and select the right playlist every time.
UK users will be greeted by their own personalised DJ with a voice and all before being shown a selection of curated songs.
How to get Spotify AI DJ as new feature launched in the UK?
Premium users will not have to download any new feature to make the most of the AI DJ with listeners only needing to tap a few buttons on their app.
To activate the new feature, Spotify listeners should head to their Music Feed on the Home page and tap the DJ card.
Once this is done, the DJ will activist and a lineup of songs and short commentary will play.
If the playlist is not for you, you can hit the bottom right of the screen to be taken to a different genre, artist or mood.
Who voices the AI DJ on Spotify?
The DJ is voiced by AI and is apparently based on the vocals of Spotify's previous head of cultural partnerships Xavier Jernigan.
The words spoken have been produced by AI and are based on several sources including a writer's room comprised of music and culture experts, data curators and scriptwriters.

How to get rid of the voice on Spotify's AI DJ
While many like the AI voice, some have been asking for ways to get rid of the DJ's commentary altogether.
According to the Spotify Community, keeping the music but removing the voice is not currently a feature of the playlist but users can use some workarounds.
One user said that listeners could skip into the mix and rewind to the start, avoiding the DJ's remarks.
Getting rid of the feature completely from your app doesn't appear to be a thing listeners can do yet with some complaining about this.
One user claimed: "People HATE this dj voice and feature and want the ability to get rid of it."
