Jonnie Irwin has expressed his pride as Rex, his oldest son, has started school.
The former A Place In The Sun presenter took to Instagram to post a picture of Rex dressed in his school uniform ahead of the big day.
Irwin shared the proud moment, writing in the caption: “First day of school. I’m so proud of him I could burst. X”
Irwin shares three sons - Rex and twins Rafa and Cormac - with his wife Jessica.
He has been sharing what he’s been up to with his family on Instagram recently with photos showing moments including their time at Yorkshire Wildlife Park and a sleepover at home.
In November last year, the former TV presenter announced he had been diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread to his brain.
In June 2023, Irwin admitted he takes himself away from his family and his home when he’s experiencing chronic pain, he told HELLO! Magazine, the Mirror reports.
Irwin instead spends time at a hospice, leaving the house when he’s in pain whenever possible as he says he’s “not good to be around”.
He said his three young children aren’t aware of their father’s terminal diagnosis.
He told HELLO! Magazine: “I remove myself on a number of occasions because I'm not good to be around when I'm in pain.”
Irwin added: “I'm like a bear with a sore head and I don't want them to be around that.”
