It comes after reports from the Daily Star suggested that Abbington faced 'setbacks' following health issues.
Strictly's latest live show saw Abbington missing from the lineup as presenter Claudia Winkleman shared: "Now as you may have noticed, Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the lineup. Due to medical reasons, Amanda is unable to perform this week.”
Abbington is paired up with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice and has been doing well in the BBC show gaining high scores from judges.

Confirm the actress's exit, on an episode of Strictly: It Takes Two today (Monday, October 23) presenter Fleur East briefly shared a statement given by the show.
A message then popped up on the screen that read: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
"The show wishes her all the best for the future".
The Sherlock actress's exit comes following rumours of a 'rift' between Pernice and Abbington, according to the Daily Star.
The pair were quick to shut rumours down on Strictly's It Takes Two, as host and dancer Janette Manrara said: "It honestly looks like you two are having the best time in rehearsals, getting along like a house on fire in rehearsals right?"
This saw Abbington reply: "Yeah we are, we are! We do and we laugh a lot, we have the same sense of humour which is really important. So we'll come out, work hard, and then we just laugh don't we."
BBC Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays.
