Fans of the cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have shared their top tips for stopping condensation and damp forming on windows - including a £1.25 product you can pick up from Asda.
Many of us will have spotted condensation and mould in our homes recently as temperatures drop over the winter months.
Condensation can damage your windows and furniture, and it can also cause mould to form which could be detrimental to your health.
But not to fret, members of the community Facebook group Mrs Hinch cleaning tips have shared their advice on how to get rid of damp and condensation from windows - and it's not going to break the bank.
One top contributor asked the group: "Any suggestions on getting rid of condensation and damp on windows. Something that’s not to expensive. Thankyou."
There were hundreds of suggestions left in the comments ranging from 'old wives tales' to popular productions.
Recommendations included the likes of salt and cat litter on the window ledge to Fairy liquid and window vacs.
One of the most popular products mentioned in the comments comes from the supermarket giant Asda.
Asda's single dehumidifier is available for £1.25 and reportedly helps to get rid of damp and condensation.
The supermarket says that it can used in "wardrobes, window sills, caravans and garages" and is also helpful for preparing rooms for decorating.
The dehumidifiers are available in various scents including Vanilla, Lavender as well as Original.
Replying to the original post, one top contributor said: "Put a dish of cat litter or salt on the ledge I buy the dehumidifiers for a £1.25 from asda."
A second person added: "Asda’ s are definitely the best. I have tried a few."
Dehumidifiers were popular suggestions overall with many users chiming in in the comments.
One member posted: "Definitely get a dehumidifier. I think every home should have one."
Another agreed: "Small dehumidifier put window."
While a third wrote: "Dehumidifier. Worth paying out for x."
Who is Mrs Hinch?
Mrs Hinch - otherwise known as Sophie Hinchcliffe - is well-known and beloved for sharing cleaning tips and tricks. The popular influencer created her Instagram account, mrshinchhome, in March 2018.
Since then, she has accumulated 4.7 million followers on the platform (at the time of writing) and has written several cleaning books which have been included on the Sunday Times Bestseller List.
