SEVERAL North Glasgow businesses were ransacked by thieves when they were broken into within days of each other.
Police are now investigating after a butcher's shop, an eatery and a café were raided on Springburn Way last week. It is understood those responsible smashed doors and windows to gain entry to the properties.
Meena Singh, owner of Atwal's Fish and Chicken Shop and Springburn Café, received the news on Friday morning as her employee found the shops in disarray.
She said: "I got a phone call around 8.30am to say that she had went into the café and it was a riot.
"I had questioned her, she said the shutter was shut, the door was locked. I asked her to go into the chippy, since we have a door in-between, and that is when she saw that the window had been done in there."

In shock, she called the police and started making arrangements to have the window fixed.
The thief made away with the cash that was inside the two shops around £100.
Two days later James Singer, co-owner of A Wier Butchers, was alerted when the alarm in the store went off.
He said: "They threw a brick at the door and climbed in through a gap in the glass.
"They pulled out the drawer and stole the charity money that was in there and then fled."
The three businesses are well-known in the community and prior to these incidents, the owners said they never experienced anything like this before.
Mrs Singh added: "I have been here for 12 years and we never had any problems. The neighbourhood is usually quiet and peaceful."
The butcher's shop has been at this location for 30 years, only having been broken into once before last week, well before the current owners took over.
Mr Singer added: "It makes me angry. I don't know how much money was in our charity box but the time and money it requires to fix our door is frustrating.
"We are now looking to get shutters put on the shop as well. This is an expense we never thought we would have to fork out, but we are doing it to save any hassle in the future."
There were CCTV cameras in operation on the street and Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the break-ins.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Enquiries are at an early stage.”
