A THUG who tried to kill a man in a brutal attack has been jailed for nine and a half years.
Curtis Barber turned on Adam Whittaker initially in a flat in Williamson Street in Glasgow's Parkhead on June 28 2020.
The assault - which involved Barber using a knife - eventually spilled into the close and then onto the street.
The 22 year-old was yesterday sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.
He had previously been convicted of attempted murder.
Prosecutors stated this was to the victim's severe injury, permanent impairment and disfigurement as well as to the danger of his life.
Barber - who had been on bail at the time - was further guilty of threatening and abusive behaviour, possession of a knife, two separate assault charges including one that he intended to rob a man of his car.

Sentencing, Lord Armstrong told him: "I recognise that you may have the capacity to change.
"But, I am satisfied due to the extreme level of violence, taking place in your victim's home that there is no alternative to custody."
Barber - who had denied the accusations - appeared via video link from prison for the hearing.
