UPDATE: Woman arrested after serious assault at Westerton train station near Glasgow
WESTERTON train station was closed for more than 12 hours following a police incident last night.
ScotRail announced on social media that trains would not be stopping at the Bearsden station until around midday today.
The station was reopened around 12.30pm.
ScotRail did not reveal any information about the nature of the incident.
Those wishing to travel to Westerston were asked to get off at Drumchapel, Anniesland or Bearsden to get a replacement bus service.
Train tickets were also being accepted on the number 15 bus between Milngavie and Glasgow city centre in both directions.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Around 10.30pm, officers were called to an altercation at the Westerton train station which resulted in two women being seriously assaulted.
"A 32-year-old female has been arrested.
"Another woman was taken to hospital for treatment."
