A popular Glasgow nightclub has announced its closure this week.
The Shimmy Club on Royal Exchange Square took to social media yesterday to share the news with its thousands of followers.
A member of the team at the venue said: "Thanks For Dancing With Us…
"We want to let you know that we have decided to close the doors of The Shimmy Club.
"We have loved making so many memories with you all, and want to say a huge thanks to all of the shimmy staff, DJs, guests, and most importantly all of you."
Opened in 2013, The Shimmy Club has since become a busy fixture of the city's nightlife scene.
Club regulars were quick to voice their shock at its closure saying: "Oh the memories!" and "The end of an era!"
The Shimmy Club is owned by the Scotsman Group, formerly known as G1.
