A PERSON has tragically died following an incident on the train tracks near Glasgow this morning.
British Transport Police has confirmed that officers were alerted of a casualty this morning at 5.39am at Coatdyke station.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the person could not be saved.
An investigation was launched into the incident and authorities are currently working to identify the deceased.

A spokesperson said:" British Transport Police were called to Coatdyke station at 5.39am this morning (April 5) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and establish the full circumstances behind their death."
