A huge festival of food and music is coming to Giffnock this summer.
Rouken Glen Park will play host to Foodies Festival from August 12 to 14 and will feature a host of culinary experts and musical guests.
Masterchef alumni Gary Maclean, Laura Michael and Liam Rogers will cook their signature dishes live in the Chefs' Theatre, and they will be joined by Calum Montgomery, chef-patron of 3 AA Rosette-awarded Edinbane Lodge in Skye.
Gary said: "Being part of Foodies this year is going to be so much fun, getting out and getting face to face with the public again is going to be very special, I am also excited to see and meet and learn from the incredible line up of chefs who have kept us going throughout lockdowns.
"Getting in front of a Glasgow and Edinburgh audience is always a highlight. Can’t wait."
Liam added: "I’m super excited to be a part of the Foodies Festival in Glasgow. It’s a great chance for me to showcase my food to a great audience and interact with some lovely people! I can’t wait!"
A host of local Michelin starred chefs from award-winning Glasgow restaurants will give the festival a distinctive local flavour, including Graeme Cheevers, chef-patron from Unalome in Glasgow, Peter McKenna of The Gannet, Chef Mark Howard, and head chef Ronan Shaftoe from Bar Brett.
Guests can enjoy a range of activities, including cocktail-making masterclasses, meeting cookbook authors, a kids' cookery school for young ones, a chilli-eating challenge and more.
Known as the 'Gastro-Glastonbury', the Foodies Festival also offers live entertainment. Toploader, N-Trance and Tom McGuire & the Brassholes will perform over the weekend, with a 'Big Party Night' promising to deliver 90s nostalgia and dance music.
Toploader said: “We are properly excited to be performing at Foodies Festival. What more could a band want than a stage to perform on, awesome food and free-flowing drinks in the sunshine.
"Bring it on and see you there!”
A special stage dedicated to Musicians Against Homelessness will feature over 40 artists across the weekend, a combination of local bands and rising stars
Musicians Against Homelessness founder, Emma Rule, said: “I’m very pleased to help bring this amazing line-up of artists to Foodies in Glasgow.
"I can’t praise them enough for their generous support in these difficult times. The last two years have been incredibly hard for charities and the hospitality industry alike. But together we can and will make a difference."
Foodies Festival director, Sue Hitchen, added: “I am delighted to bring Foodies Festival to Glasgow. We will be celebrating local produce and giving top local chefs an opportunity to cook live in the Chefs Theatre.
"There is such a great foodie scene in Glasgow and I know that Foodies will be made very welcome."
