Beer lovers are being asked to raise a glass - and funds - for the people of Ukraine.
Two Glasgow businesses are taking part in a nationwide fundraiser by selling Kyiv-based beer Varvar Brew and donating the profits to Drinkers from Ukraine, which raises funds for humanitarian relief in Ukraine.
Those wishing to help out can buy a Varvar at the Wee Beer Shop on Pollokshaws Road or Valhalla's Goat on Great Western Road.
Importer and distributor Euroboozer has successfully delivered 30,000 pints worth of Varvar's craft beer to the UK, and the beers will be available to buy across the country from 4pm on April 14.
Drinkers and retailers are also being asked to share their pictures on social media at 6pm on April 14, using the hashtag #CheersForUkraine #DrinkersForUkraine.
Martyn Railton, MD of Euroboozer, said: "It’s been far from straightforward but we’re delighted to announce that the Varvar beer rescue has been a complete success and the lorry arrived at our HQ."
Martyn added: "We have a big job to now get the beer delivered to the incredible bars, pubs, restaurants and retailers who have bought into the initiative but we’re confident, especially with some incredible offers of help from the likes of Salcombe Brewery and Tiny Rebel, that fridges and shelves will be stocked across the UK with amazing Ukraine beer by Thursday, April 14.
"We now just need the country to show their support in probably the best way, by heading into the venues, drinking beer and raising a glass at 6pm.”
