A MAN is fighting for his life after an emergency incident on a train line.
We earlier reported that train services had been affected due to an incident between Cumbernauld and Motherwell stations.
Emergency crews were on the scene.
British Transport Police have confirmed that they and paramedics attended the railway line near Coatbridge Central railway station at around 7am this morning.
They responded to a report of a casualty on the tracks.
A man has been taken to hospital where his injuries are being treated as life-threatening.
Authorities are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called to the line near Coatbridge Central railway station at 7.07am this morning (April 11) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and a man has been taken to a local hospital. At this time his injuries are deemed life-threatening.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
