A PLAN to build 156 homes in Glasgow's East End has been approved by the council.
CCG Homes submitted plans to Glasgow City Council last year in a bid to transform a former school site on Edinburgh Road in Springboig.
The development will consist of 124 terraced, semi-detached, and detached houses with two, three and four bedrooms. These will be privately sold.
Another 32 one and two-bedroom apartments will be for market rent and will be led by a chosen rental partner.
There will be a great focus on biodiversity with spacious green areas and a communal amenity space, while the homes will be designed to ensure lower annual energy bills for future residents.
Construction of the site will begin this summer.
CCG Homes Managing Director, Calum Murray, said: “CCG Homes is delighted to have received approval for this exciting development in what will be a transformative project for the east end of Glasgow.
"We are confident that the variety of house types on offer, which will be available with high-specification as standard, will cater to a wide range of buyers and we look forward to releasing more sales information over the coming months.”
CCG is continuing to market 81 new properties in Cambuslang and has sold over 50% of the development.
This spring they will also launch a further 20 homes for sale at ‘Calderwood Lodge’, a range of two-and-three-bedroom luxury properties on the site of a former primary school in Newlands in Glasgow’s Southside.
