THREE Sisters Bake have announced they will close Cake Bar in the city's West End.

The cake shop on Great Western Road, which is run by sisters Linsay, Nichola and Gillian Reith, will have its last day of trading on Sunday, April 24 after three years.

In a post shared on social media, the sisters announced that they will be leaving the spot as their lease is coming to an end and they have decided to focus on the wholesale side of their business.

The post on Facebook said: "Sad News Post…after three VERY happy years on Great Western Road our lease at Cake Bar is coming to an end and we will be closing the shop at the end of April, with our last trading day being Sunday 24th April.

"After giving it lots of thought and even starting to look around at other shops, we’ve decided for the moment not to move to an alternative premises in order to give ourselves time to focus on building the wholesale side of our business.

"We’ve had to say no to so many new wholesale enquiries over the past year due to being too busy and we’d love to free up some time to be able to grow this side of the business as we LOVE working with other small hospitality businesses."

They added: "In happier news, Cake Bar is open for the weekend from TOMORROW and will be stacked high with brownies; rocky roads; sourdough bread; cruffins; doughnuts; cookies and sausage rolls."

Another said: "Gutted but good luck."

A third person added: "Best of luck with whatever’s next for you all."

Three Sisters Bake previously had to close two cafes at Quarrier's Village in Kilmacolm and in Killearn as a result of the pandemic.
