TRIBUTES have been paid to a woman whose body was discovered by police officers on Tuesday.

Emma Baillie, 26, was sadly found dead at a property on Calder Street in Coatbridge.

Her death is being treated as murder and is believed to be linked to that of 51-year-old John Paul Duffy, whose body was found at a property nearby on Sunday.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the deaths and is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Friends and family members have paid tribute to Emma, from Coatbridge.

One person said: "Rip Emma Baillie, gone to soon, fly high."

Another posted: "Very sad. The world is such a cruel place. Hope whoever is responsible is caught soon."

Another post reads: "Fly high Emma ma girl, justice will be served."

A fourth person added: "This is so heartbreaking, RIP Emma."

Someone said: "Fly high Emma my lass, justice will be served, you were taken in such a horrible way." 

Detective Chief Inspector Graham Grant said: "I would also like to reassure the public that officers are working to establish the full circumstances of what has happened and there is an increased police presence in the area.

"If you have any concerns call us on 101 or speak to officers.

"Extensive enquiries are continuing into both deaths and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen either of them in recent weeks as we seek to establish their movements."
