A number of women who were sexually assaulted by North Lanarkshire doctor Krishna Singh are planning to launch civil cases against the shamed medic.
The 72-year-old abused his position to prey on his victims over 35 years.
His targets included a rape victim, teenagers and pregnant women.
They were subjected to kissing, groping, inappropriate examinations and comments during appointments.
Singh was convicted of 54 charges against 48 women earlier this month.
The crimes mainly consisted of multiple sexual and indecent assaults.
On Thursday, Laura Connor of Thompsons Solicitors confirmed that the legal firm is now representing ten of the victims.
She said: “Since Singh was found guilty we have been approached by two women who were both under 16 when he abused them.
“This means we’re handling their cases as child abuse.
“The fact he targeted children is another aspect of Singh’s despicable offending.”
Singh’s charges spanned between February 1983 and May 2018, during which time he was awarded an MBE for medical services.
He denied the crimes during a two-month trial at the High Court in Glasgow and insisted the patients were wrong – and that some of the examinations were what he had been taught during medical training in India.
The offences mainly occurred at medical practices in North Lanarkshire, but also at a hospital accident and emergency department, a police station, and during visits to patients’ homes.
His offending came to light after a woman reported him to authorities in 2018 amid the MeToo movement, sparking a massive probe into his behaviour.
The victim complained to NHS Lanarkshire that she had been molested in 2012, which included her being kissed and Singh looking down her underwear.
Ms Connor, a partner at Thompsons Solicitors, added: “We now represent ten women in total and expect that number to continue to rise over the coming weeks.
“My team will make sure we push to secure the maximum compensation for our clients, but we still need to know how this predator was able to carry out his crimes over three decades.
“The NHS must hold a full inquiry so that Singh’s victims and the local community can get the answers they deserve.”
Singh, of Airdrie, is currently awaiting sentencing.
