NICOLA STURGEON paid a visit to a popular vegan bakery today and declared she had "the best empire biscuits" she had ever tasted.
West End bakery Plant Blonde posted a video of the First Minister sampling their plant-based baked goods today on their Instagram page.
In the video, she is asked: "How's your biscuit?"
To which she answers: "This is the best empire biscuit I've ever tasted."
Other customers and staff cheered as Sturgeon paid her compliments to the bakers.
In the video, she is even donning a branded Plant Blonde t-shirt.
The video has since received almost 1,000 likes and dozens of ecstatic comments at the news that the FM enjoyed some vegan treats.
Plant Blonde opened last month on Hyndland Street after Jennifer Walls, the woman behind the bakery, turned a lockdown hobby into a career.
The gifted baker took the lifestyle change in her stride and now serves a menu full of veggie fare, artisan coffee and of course, their signature empire biscuits.
Speaking previously with the Glasgow Times she said: “We’ve put so much time and effort into the café already.
“There are architects and project managers working away and we recently started recruiting for staff.
“The response was overwhelming. We had so many people getting in touch to say that they wanted to work with us because they share our ideas and beliefs.
“That was so important to us because it means the world that we’ll be working with people who are passionate about the same things that we are.”
