AN investigation has been launched after a fire was deliberately started near a B&M store.
Cops raced to the retail park on Gartlea Road in Airdrie at around 1.55am this morning, April 25.
The fire was set at the side and rear of the store.
It was extinguished and now officers are probing the incident by scouring CCTV footage to find who is responsible.
Detective Sergeant Steven Halliday of Coatbridge Police Station said: “We have been carrying out enquiries in the area and we are viewing CCTV images to gather more information on whoever is responsible for setting this fire.
“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area early on Monday morning, or have any information that may assist our investigation, please contact officers through 101 quoting reference 0202 of April 25.
"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
