A NURSERY has become the 100th North Lanarkshire business to sign up as a real Living Wage employer.
By signing up to the initiative, Tannoch Tots Nursery, in Tannochside, Uddingston, is committing to paying its staff a fair and reasonable wage.
As well as giving staff financial security and showing them their work is valued, employers can also benefit as they will attract and retain skilled staff.

Carla McGuinness, nursery director, said: "Tannoch Tots signed up for the real Living Wage as it’s the right thing to do by all our staff, especially at this time with the cost of living currently soaring.
"We understand our staff are what make our nursery the great place that it is for our children and families.
"As a family-run nursery, we always strive to do the best for our employees and felt being a real Living Wage employer would be very beneficial to all our staff team."
John Campbell, financial inclusion manager with North Lanarkshire Council, said: "North Lanarkshire Council is a real Living Wage employer and, together with our partners, encourage other local companies to sign up to adopt the real Living Wage to make work pay and help more people out of poverty.
"Increasing income from employment is one of the key priorities in our Tackling Poverty Strategy which aims to deliver inclusive, fairer and prosperous communities.
"We’re delighted Tannoch Tots has helped us reach this milestone and is now our 100th business to sign up to the initiative, and we’d appeal for more businesses to pledge their support."

The current real Living Wage of £9.90 per hour was announced in November as part of Living Wage Week 2021.
North Lanarkshire Council is offering support to small companies to help them through the process of becoming a real Living Wage employer.
