AN INMATE has died at Low Moss prison in Bishopbriggs near Glasgow.
The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) confirmed that Gerard Hooks died in their custody. He died on April 30 the SPS confirmed yesterday.
He was 76-year-old. The prisoner was previously convicted at Falkirk Sheriff Court in 2021. No further details were provided of his crime.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Prison Service said: "Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
"A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
