A GLASGOW-born man has hit an inspiring target after fundraising for injured veterans for over a decade.
Mark Barclay, 57, has been supporting Help for Heroes since 2009 with different activities.
Recently, he passed the £50,000 limit after completing two 500km Big Battlefield Bike Rides to France, several Great Scottish Runs and lots of other fundraising activities since 2009.
He said: "I am doing whatever I can, as I strongly believe we owe it to those who have served our country. It is not just about physical injuries, there are many veterans who have unseen debilitating mental difficulties, and the money raised on behalf of Help for Heroes will go towards helping those in need.
“It may be thirteen years on from that initial fundraising event, but I’m still as motivated as ever to do as much as possible to keep this ongoing situation in the public spotlight, it’s the least we can do.”

Mark will continue taking on challenges after this milestone, starting with his third Big Battlefield Bike Ride (BBBR) to mark his 58th birthday on June 12.
He will be joined by long-time friend Davie Dale, son-in-law Adam Kennedy and his twin brother Dan, along with daughter Gemma’s boyfriend Jamie Brechin on the Somme BBBR 2022.
The business executive was inspired to help wounded, injured, and recovering service personnel after meeting veterans while working in military-affiliated organisations across the UK.
His dad also served in the army and his brother served as a Paratrooper with the Territorial Army for three years.
