A second Glasgow school was forced to evacuate pupils this week following a 'malicious' hoax call.
The Glasgow Times previously reported that police raced to Corpus Christi school in Knightswood shortly after midday on Wednesday following reports of a concerning phone call.
It has now been confirmed that less than 24 hours later St Thomas Aquinas Secondary in Broomhill was also targeted by a threatening caller.
At around 11:50 am yesterday pupils at the school on Mitre Road were told to evacuate the premises until it was deemed safe to return.
A search was carried out and pupils were allowed to resume classes.
Police continue to investigate the incident and say they are taking the threat 'very seriously'.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said at the time: “Officers were called to an incident, believed to be a malicious call made to St Thomas Aquinas School, Mitre Road, Glasgow around 11.50 am on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
"A search is being carried out in conjunction with the local authority.
“Enquiries are ongoing to locate whoever is responsible.
“Police Scotland take hoax calls extremely seriously. They divert police resources and cause disruption and alarm to the public. Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
