A MAN has suddenly died at the M8 motorway in the early hours of this morning.
Cops raced to the motorway at Junction 27 Arkleston, in Paisley, at around 4.20am.
The area was closed westbound earlier today when Traffic Scotland tweeted that an 'ongoing police incident' was happening at the scene.
Officers are not treating the 56-year-old's death as suspicious and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
A report will also be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The M8 at J27 westbound was closed this morning as officers dealt with the sudden death of a 56-year-old man.
"Police received the call around 4.20am on Monday, May 16, 2022. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
