A MAN has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a bin lorry in Cumbernauld.
Emergency services were called to Main Road in Condorrat at around 12.10pm today following a report of a man being hit by a bin lorry.
The 58-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the crash.
His injuries are understood to be serious but not life-threatening.
Officers confirmed an investigation into what happened is underway.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.10pm on Friday, May 20, 2022, police were called to the Main Road area of Condorrat, Cumbernauld, following a report of a road crash involving a bin lorry and a 58-year-old man.
"The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and his injuries are believed to be serious, but not life-threatening.
"The Health and Safety Executive has been made aware and enquiries into the incident remain ongoing."
