A 'police incident' on a stretch of motorway near Glasgow Airport has caused major traffic delays this evening.
At around 5:45 pm, emergency services rushed to Junction 28 to 27 of the M8 Eastbound after receiving reports of 'concern for a person'.
The road was quickly closed with Traffic Scotland advising that traffic was heavy on approach and delays were expected.

In a later update at around 6:32 pm, Traffic Scotland continued to urge drivers to avoid the area stating that traffic was now heavy in both directions.
Photos from the scene show multiple fire services vehicles in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are in attendance following a report of concern for a person on the M8 eastbound at junction 28 at around 5.45 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
“The M8 eastbound is currently closed between junction 29 and junction 27.”
At 7:13 pm a Traffic Scotland spokesperson confirmed that the road was still closed with no access from the A737 to the M8.
A delay time of 25 minutes on the M8 has been reported.
