A TEENAGE shop assistant was left shaken up after the East End shop she was working in was robbed.
The 19-year-old was uninjured when a man entered the Scotmid store in Edinburgh Road and threatened.
He stole a three-figure sum of money during the robbery yesterday at 3.55pm and when he made off, he ran through several gardens nearby.
Police are now hunting for the robber who is white and between 20 and 30 years of age.
He was wearing dark coloured clothing. He was also carrying a plastic bag and tried to conceal his face. He made off in the direction of Gartcraig Road.
Constable Fraser Barr said: “I am appealing to local residents in this area to think back and consider if they saw anything odd.
"We know the suspect made off running through several gardens, so you may have seen him.
"I would appeal to motorists with dash cams to check their footage as they could have picked up an image of the suspect.
"Please pass any relevant footage to us.
"If you have any information, please do pass it on, it could be the vital piece of information we need to locate this suspect.”
