A BUSY road in Glasgow's East End has been closed following a "fluid spillage" today.
The Gallowgate is currently shut after a fluid spillage, a Glasgow City Council traffic bulletin reports.
Officers confirmed the fluid would be oil.
The road is closed between East Campbell Street and Barrack Street.
The council has advised the road will remain closed "until the area is made safe for vehicles".
It also stated police are at the scene and directing traffic away from the area.
Glasgow City Council later released an update advising the road has now reopened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.25pm, police were called to assist following a report of oil on the road on McFarlane Street, Glasgow."
