A man is fighting for his life after he was attacked in Rutherglen.
Murder cops are investigating the serious assault which happened on Sunday at 3pm.
The force said officers were called to Greenhill Road where they found a 40-year-old man seriously injured.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as critical but stable.
Police are treating the incident as an attempted murder. Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information. Door-to-door enquires are also being carried out.

Detective Sergeant Vicky Murray said: “This incident happened in the middle of the afternoon and I’m sure people will have heard or seen something.
"I am appealing to the local community to get in touch with us with any information they have, no matter how insignificant it might seem, please pass it on.
"We do not know the motive for this attack and it’s imperative we trace whoever is responsible for this crime.”
